Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow. On a level of 1 to 10, can you describe the pain you are in? 1 is no pain at all and a 10 is the worst pain you have ever felt. Where would I describe this pain? Oh, in the 9-10 range. I don't really think I have ever felt any pain like this before. However, when I was asked this question yesterday in the hospital, I said, oh I don't know maybe a 5 or 6. Why did I say that? Well, I read once that doctors always hear people say that they are experiencing a level 11. Thus doctors become desensitized to patients thoughts on pain. I figured that the uncontrollable crying that happened when they asked me to sit up and get off of the gurney was some pretty solid evidence of the amount of pain that I was in.
But, hey, I'm clearly ahead of myself aren't I? Uhh.... just a little. Okay then, let's back up. I first considered getting an orchi awhile back. I'm not sure when it first occurred to me, but I do not what precipitated it. That was difficulties in getting my spironolactone, spiro for short. Spiro is used to prevent the body from using the testosterone it produces. When you are assigned male at birth but are actually a woman, generally you get placed onto two medications when you begin hormone therapy. Spiro to block the testosterone and estrogen to give you what you should be getting.
Anywho..... I, like most US citizens, tend to use CVS pharmacies to get my prescriptions filled. Several times over the last two years I have encountered difficulties in getting my scrip for spiro filled. One particular time the pharmacy I use told me that they would be unable to fill my scrip; they informed me that they were out of that medication. They offered me nothing and gave me no assistance in finding a place to fill the scrip. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was a totally anti-transgender move by the pharmacy. I kind of got a clue when I tried phoning several different locations and none of them would fill my scrip. I finally just drove across town to a different CVS, and spoke with that pharmacist. He said, that yeah, they were indeed out of that medication but there were at least 3 or 4 other manufacturers of that type of medication that they could easily use to fill that scrip. I walked out 5 minutes later with the scrip in hand.
The thing was though, I totally panicked when I was struggling to get my scrip filled. It was around then that I realized what a horrible feeling it was that other people were now in charge of my body. They had the power to determine whether or not I would be on testosterone or not. That really pissed me off, horribly so!
It was around then as well that I started noticing the effects that spiro was having on my body. Yes spiro stops the body from being able to utilize testosterone, but it also can increase the potassium in your body to dangerous levels, thus requiring frequent blood work to be examined. It also lowers your blood pressure which increases the amount of being light headed and dizzy upon standing. The other lovely thing is that it is a diuretic which means that I was constantly feeling dehydrated. I would drink liquid all day but by the end of the day my skin was super dry and flaky and my lips were constantly peeling. I would wake up every morning with such a super dry pasty mouth that it was painful.
So, uh, yeah, there you go, oh and let's also throw in that the longer I am in therapy, the longer I am on hormone therapy, the more I am understanding my reality, I'm actually a girl. And do you know what most girls don't have? Testicles! Yup, not so much! Thus it was, I found a doctor who was willing to accept my cash, as my insurance will not cover such things. Even though in the long run, it will save my insurance plan money. How so? They are paying for my spiro. If I didn't get the orchi, I would be on spiro for the rest of my life, with my insurance paying for it for ever. But if they would be willing to pay for the orchi, then no more spiro! And yes it would have saved them money. But no, they wouldn't pay.
Okay, so whatevs..... I found a doctor in Philadelphia that I could afford and specializes in working with trans patients. Thus it was I arrived in Philly earlier this week, and on Thursday I got my orchi. The thing that shocked me the most was how much pain I was in when I woke from surgery. I was not anticipating that. I thought that I would be numb, but nope, I wasn't. I was in pain. And that sucked. I spent the next hour or so crying trying to come to grips with the amount of discomfort I was in. I got some food in me, and some soda, and some percocet. That made it so I didn't care so much about the pain, but I still felt it.
My doctor had picked me up in the morning, and took my wife and I to the hospital. Once I was able, he drove us back to the hotel, and that is where I have been since. I know that I will make it through this, and that it is the best thing for me, but for now, it just plain sucks. I wish I was home. I wish I could have had this procedure done at my local hospital and that right now I was recovering at my house, with my own things, and able to stay in my own bed. Easily half of my discomfort right now is that I am staying in a hotel. That sucks.
This is but one of the dehumanizing things some of us trans people have to endure to be able to be who we are. Kinda sucks. Kinda really sucks actually. Well for right now it does at least. I know I will make it through, and I know I will be happier. I just wish it was right now.
Love you!
Love yourselves!
Don't love pain so much.

Asymmetrical Top
Leggings - White House Black Market - Similar
Shoes - Ralph Lauren - Similar
I love this top! It is so perfect for being able to wear with pants, or shorts! Well at least it is perfect for me. For I am not a tucker. If you're reading this blog I will assume that most of you are aware of what tucking is for a transgender person, but if not, then click here. Personally tucking just does not work all that well for me. Sure I know how to tuck. I've tried it repeatedly with a variety of different methods or assisting devices and it really just does not work how I think it should.
How should it work? Well in my mind it should result in a perfectly flat smooth front. Which I can never get! Trust me, I know how it works. I know what you're supposed to do. But alas it just does not work the way that I hear of it working for some. Apparently for some folks, they can achieve this perfect tuck, such that nobody would ever suspect that they have more in their shorts than they are supposed to. I've read of some who can tuck so nicely that they can wear a thong bikini and nothing shows! Um..... wow.
Honestly, for me, that just does not work. The best possible method for me, is to wear some spanks and place me extra bits kind of down the side of my leg. That way things at least look nice and smooth, even in the tightest of skirts. But leggings? Yeah that is a different story entirely!
Thus what is someone in my position to do? Well, wearing shirts that are longer in the front provides for some excellent camouflage! Thus my love for this shirt! It's asymmetry provides for the perfect cover for me. That way I don't have to do anything special. I can wear my regular undergarments and simply wear this shirt, and then POOF, nothing shows! Yay!!
The other totally awesome thing about this particular top is that it is long in the front, but normal length in the back. Which means, that in a piar of leggings, my front is well hidden, but my butt is showing! My wife especially likes that aspect of it. And so do I. I mean, I don't have the typical lady tushy, but my back side is pretty perky!
Okie Dokie!!!
Love you!
Love yourself!!
Please do try and love yourself!
I mean, work at it. It takes effort, and not just acceptance.
So do it!

Outfit for Monday 2/11/13
Jeans - Guess
Top - Guess
Black Tank - Mossimo
Shoes - Nine West
Wow surprise surprise, I am in almost all Guess clothes again. Doing these outfit posts and posting up the brand of clothing that I am wearing really makes me aware of what I am wearing and I can clearly see that I need to branch out in my purchasing of clothes. I tend to go back to the same places that I have successfully found nice clothes in the past. I need to be more adventurous in my shopping!
Anyways, I really like this top. I think it is really good for those of us who are small hipped. It has the nice frilly flare at the bottom of it and helps to give the illusion of nice sized hips. I also like the 3/4 sleeve and the small V at the neckline. The small V also works quite well to help diminish the appearance of larger shoulders. I have heard that wearing larger breast form will make your shoulders appear smaller, but I prefer to use my clothes to make my body dimensions better. In the past I have used larger breast forms but I find that they tend to attract attention more so than making my shape look better.
Also, recently on another blog someone wrote that while wearing jeans it is a must to tuck. While I admit that with certain occasions I will tuck, but most times I do not. It is far too uncomfortable to be that way for an entire day of driving, and walking, and shopping, and general living. Generally I wear clothes that do not necessitate tucking. So, I would have to disagree with whomever it was that I was reading at the time who said with jeans you MUST tuck.
Today this outfit was worn for shopping at Costco. I never told you of the funny experience I had the last time I went to Costco. It is a must share, but I will have to leave that for another time!
Love Ya!

Conquering my Fears One Outfit at a Time
Pants - Guess
Black Top - Converse One Star
White and Black Striped Top - Guess
Shoes - New York Transit
I like the outfit pictured above, when it is cool enough for me to wear it. It has been so dang hot lately and on this night I happened to be in Las Vegas. At night, I think it got down to the low 90s. But inside the casino, they had the air conditioner blowing hard and it was quite cool. I decided to wear my favorite pants.
I like these pants, because they are very long and they make my legs look great. Whenever I wear them, I have to wear a certain size heal for them to not drag on the floor as I walk. The shoes I have on, are just barely tall enough to keep my pants off the ground.
With this outfit I also have one of my go to shirts on. The black top is a very strategic garment for me. First off, the arms are longer and they help to hide my larger arms. Wearing a top like that helps me to feel more relaxed ass it is one less very obvious tell that I can cover up. The other thing I like about this top is that it just barely covers my crotch. This allows for me to not have to wear any special undergarments, or do anything special with Mr. Happy. The shirt cover the barely noticeable extra bits in my pants.
This outfit made me feel very comfortable, which I was looking for as on this evening I decided to face another one of my fears. It appears to me that if I have never done something before while dressed as a girl I have a notion that I can't do it while dressed as a girl.
This particular evening I decided that I wanted to go down to the casino and play roulette. My wife and I like to play for fun. We gamble responsibly, for anyone that really cares. But I have great fears when I choose to dress as a girl and put myself into new situations that I need to directly interact with the public. I have had more than one person on this blog that has let me know that they think I get to do what I do in public as I can readily pass as a GG. To me, nothing could be further from the truth. Maybe I can pass, at a glance. But a longer look allows anyone who cares to see, that I am clearly a guy dressed as a girl. Besides, even if people can't tell from my looks, they can certainly tell from my voice.
For me to go out, dressed as a girl, and interact directly with the public, such as a dealer and other players at a roulette table, was pretty intimidating before I did it. The long and the short of it, is that it again, was no big deal. I just went and did my thing, and it went just as good as it ever has. And bummer for me, no dressing as a girl did not bring me any luck on this particular evening. I broke evening while Jules lost about $100.
Love ya!
Face your fears!!

Mini Skirt
Shoes - Nine West
Tights - Target
Skirt - Guess
Top - Moreno
Belt - ?
Do you think mini skirts have an age limit to wearing them? I thought so, but considering that I like this skirt so much, I am no longer so sure. I am 40 years old and have heard that a mini skirt should no longer be worn once you reach 40. What do you think about this idea?
I know that when someone wears clothes that are not their age the end up looking much older than they really are. Does the outfit that I am wearing not look appropriate for someone of age 40?
On another note I really like wearing the tights with this mini skirt. Actually without the tights I don't think I would wear this skirt out in public. Underneath the tights are a pair of short pair of shapewear shorts. Mr. Happy rests comfortably down this inside of my leg nicely disguised by the shapewear. The thing about the shorts is that they are longer than the skirt, so without the tights hiding the shorts I don't think I would wear this skirt in public.
The boots by the way are my new current favorite shoe. They are a 9 1/2 from Nine West, which I normally wear a 10. The 10's though have a tendency to get stretched out a little and skip off my heel a bit, so I thought I would try a 9 1/2. I really like them more and more. Though personally I am a sucker for a nice shoe.
I must say that I am a pretty lucky guy. I always felt as though my feet were small for a guy, but for a girl, they are kind of on the large size. But I am quite lucky to be a guy that can get girl shoes right from the store, just about any store.

Shape Wear
In a previous post, July 7th, I wore a really cute red skirt. What I neglected to mention on that particular day was that I had a hell of a time trying to find the right shape wear to wear under that thing. I really like the skirt, but when I bought it I didn't really understand how tight it was and how much would show from whatever, and I mean whatever I wore underneath it. So I went through about an hours worth of changing through various shape wear items trying to find the right pair that wouldn't show through the skirt. I thought what I went with was okay, but not the best. Maybe I should try Spanx? Have any of you tried them? What are your thoughts on them?
My wife feels that shape wear items are for girls that are already skinny. I somewhat agree. I see her point, which is that when she tries on certain items she gets a little overflow where the garment stops. That is a problem, but what I think is going wrong is what items she is choosing to wear. I have found shape wear items that are just a little larger than panties, some that go to my knees, and some that go to my calves. They also go up higher as well. I try to match the shape wear to the clothes that I am wearing.
My choice is to wear it. First of all I generally wear some sort of tighter short boxer like panties. These help to hold the foam pads I wear to help fill out my hips. When I wear a skirt I wear longer shorts that go down to about my mid thigh. These are nice because then I don't wear any panties and have Mr. Happy go down my leg and its not quite as noticeable or as painful as tucking.
Secondly I often wear a tight tank top. The tight tank top combined with a padded A bra and some cutlets is my personal secret to gaining some cleavage. Here is a tip for putting on a tight fitting tank top, but it only works for small hipped girls or guys. Don't put it on over yoru shoulders, which are often larger in guys. Pull it up from your feet. It's much nicer.
Okay I am way tired and have no idea if what I am typing is spelled correctly or makes any sense at all!!!

Outfit for 12/10/2010
Blouse - Mossimo - Target
Shorts - Mossimo - Target
Black Under Shorts - Maidenform
Shoes - Converse - Name Brand Shoes
These shorts that I am wearing I originally purchased just for me to wear around the house because I thought that they were too short. And I thought that they were too tight to be able for me to hide Mr. Happy. I haven't talked about Mr. Happy yet and the dressing concerns that are brought about by wearing women's clothes and having Mr. Happy. I hope you know what I am talking about in referencing Mr. Happy, if not, then what is something that guys have that women don't?
Okay, so now that we are hopefully clear about the topic, we can discuss a little how I handle him in terms of clothes. First off, I generally don't ever tuck. Tucking gives a great look and yet it is often too uncomfortable to have him tucked for an entire day of walking and sitting and living. The main thing I do with him, is nothing. I really just like to wear clothes that help me to hide him. For example the shirt I have on above hangs a little low and works very well to hide the bulge in my shorts. That is my very favorite thing to do with him. Leave him alone and wear a top that is long enough to cover him. I don't like to have him on display as I do not think it is a very feminine look.
The other thing I am doing in the picture above is to wear a pair of under shorts that are tighter than normal and they help to compress things down. Also they are a little longer than those very short shorts and prevents it from looking as though I am wearing a pair of daisy dukes!
I really like the outfit above and was very comfortable for a day walking around a museum and hanging out on a warm summer day.
